Jason Statham

His mother was a ballroom dancer; his father was a singer. In his youth, he sold black-market merchandise on the streets of London with his father and brother. Was a professional diver and member of Britain's national diving team; competed in the 1988 Olympics and finished 12th in the 1992 World Championships.  Was discovered by Guy Ritchie who saw him in an advertisement for Levi jeans and cast him in  Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. His role in The Transporter was written specifically… Show more for him by Luc Besson. Has voiced characters in video games including Red Faction II and Call of Duty . Described working with Robert DeNiro in 2011's Killer Elite as great but also "intimidating."  While prepping for his action roles, he works out at a gym frequented by stuntmen. Does many of his own stunts in films. Doesn't work out year-round; takes some time off to "sit around and do nothing." Hobbies include scuba diving. Is an admirer of vintage cars. ~ Rovi
